I'm delighted to have been featured by Beaut.ie in a rave review of my Enzyme Exfoliator:
"This is going to be a product rave, the likes of which you’ve never seen. If you’re not in a position to read my OH MY GOD, WOMEN, BUY IT, BUY IT! style review, then please avoid the following paragraphs. You can’t say I didn’t warn you.
So, what’s the wonder product? Skin-care. Yep, yawn, sigh, zzzz – skin-care. It usually bores the holy ghost and his extended family out of me too, so trust me when I say that this product is exception, something that has actually gotten me as excited as lipsticks, blushers, and Michael Fassbender’s talent.
I was having a moan about the weird white bumpy yokes under my skin to some friends on twitter when a lady called Mariga chimed in with some advice. She said I needed an enzyme exfoliator and said she’d find me and kill me if I didn’t stop using face-wipes.
With that new bit of knowledge under my belt, I prowled around looking for an exfoliator like the one Mariga had recommended. I couldn’t cut through the jargon on the product blurbs and gave up the search, instead opting to give Mariga’s own Enzyme Exfoliator a go.
It was €30, a sum that I was reluctant to part with for a product from a brand, Skin Essentials by Mariga, that I’d never tried before. Sure, think of how many Galaxy Ripples that could buy! Almost an entire day’s supply!
Anyway, I filled in her “distance clients form” on her website just to suss things out. The form has sections for filling in in every detail of your skin, skin care routine, what you hope to sort out and any additional details that might be relevant. You also add on some pictures of yourself without make-up, which I did, reluctantly.
After a few days, I got an email back with a diagnosis of my skin and recommended products. What most endeared me to her (aside from the fact that she has cats), was that she took my budget into account and told me what I could do for my skin without spending a thing, or cheap health-food store stuff I could buy while I’m still counting the pennies.
After taking all that in, I spent my galaxy ripple money on a bottle of Enzyme Exfoliator. I whacked it on as soon as it arrived, surprised at the texture. It’s thinner than oil, thicker than water and there’s not a grain or bead in it.
The type of exfoliation that occurs is chemical rather than physical. Even though it’s much more gentle, I’ve found it more effective than scrubbier options by a country mile. It feels like you’ve just blasted away the top layer of eurrrgh (that’s the official term for it) on your skin but left the protective barrier and good oils behind.
I’ve noticed a massive reduction in blemishes, blackheads and general texture issues. Other people have, for the first time in my life, complimented my skin since I’ve been using this."...

Sarah from Viva Adonis had some great things to say about my Nourishing Oil on her beauty blog today. ''..the wonderful Mariga weighed in. Mariga is an Irish skin guru, and I don't use that term lightly, based down in Wexford. She runs the successful Wexford Beauty Salon and has her own line of skincare products, Skin Essentials by Mariga. Mariga very generously doles out excellent skincare advice on Twitter and she suggested that, as well as using a scrub and/or a masque, I finish my skincare routine with a generous layer of facial oil. ...I kid you not when I say that I was cured by the next morning. Over the past week or so I have been trying all manner of make-up combinations to see what I can and can't use on the area and, I am happy to report, that everything seems to sit fine, primer and powder included. Colour me impressed!''

Skin Essentials by Mariga Daily Nutrient Serum with Peptides -
OK, can I just establish, I'm not being paid to advertise this skincare line, but it may
seem like I am as I blab on about it to anyone that will listen and have mentioned it
a few times in RSVP magazine and on the blog, but people, I do this only
because IT ROCKS!
As far as skincare goes, Mariga's line is really effective and I don't know why
THE WORLD hasn't heard about it. This serum is the best I've used.
A lot of serums on the market have silicones in them, which as mentioned above, is a
complete joke! How are any good ingredients in the bottle supposed to penetrate the skin
with silicones lurking in the mist, taking up all the pore space! This serum has around 10 ingredients and is super concentrated so a little goes a mighty long way.
Serums are the way to go as they provide a potent cocktail of ingredients straight
to the skin, feeding it with goodness. Everybody should use a serum from your early 20's up!
and since using it my skin has improved loads. I was sent Creme De La Mers new
radiance serum which is worth €260...yep you read right..and while yeah, it's grand,
I have to say, I prefer the Skin Essentials serum as I know theres no ingredients
to fill it out, no 'secret' ingredients that are a 'secret' and it does a fantastic job in
helping my skin be the best it can be! Ah, think I just shed a tear!

''I blogged a few weeks back about the amazing facial I had at Wexford Beauty Salon,
at the more than capable hands of Mariga Sheedy. After the facial, Mariga gave me
some products to try out for myself at home and to say I'm impressed is an understatement.
All her Skin Essentials products are made with very little ingredients, but what ingredients
are in the products, are some of the best in town for skin. Her Enzyme Exfoliator is one
of my favourites. This has one ingredient... Pumpkin. Nothing else. Zilch. Nada!
The enzymes in the pumpkin are like little critters munching away on all the crap
lingering in your pores. I've actually binned my exfoliators with the little scrubbies in them.
Yeah, they're fine, but this little gem blows them out of the water in the SAVAGE EXFOLIATION department. I find that with scrubby-exfoliators, I need to use them
twice a week, and that's what is usually recommended. I literally use this little beaut
once every two weeks. Yep, once, every 2 WEEKS! My skin feels so smooth and cleansed afterwards. Unreal. It's also helped to fade all the little marks I had on my skin from
picking spots. Its rotten, I hear ye, but sometimes they have to be picked, end of.
The exfoliator comes with a little dropper and, like all the Skin Essential products,
they're super concentrated so you only need to use the smallest amount for the best results.
The serums from this range are the bomb too, review coming up on one soon.''

Monday, November 22, 2010Fab Facials at the hands of Mariga Sheedy....... I do love a good facial. Nothing like getting your face massaged to the high heavens with luxurious potions and lotions, candles flickering in a softly lit room and Asian music playing in the background transporting me to an island off the coast of Malaysia. Heaven. But, facials aren't supposed to be relaxing. OK, they can be, but our lady friends across the waters in the US and in Europe see facials as an improtant part of their skincare routine and have their favourite facialist on speedial as you would your favourite hairdresser. Facials to them are clinical. They have every pore squeezed and de-gunked followed by double-whammy cleansing and super duper masks. They emerge from the salon with skin cleansed to within an inch of its life. This is what I needed. I've had my fair share of the 'relaxing' facials where you can see no results whatsoever, apart from a sleepy head. I want a facial where MY pores are squeezed and pesky blackheads zapped. Those little feckers are the bane of my life!(although they're really tiny and probably only visible to a therapists and my own scrutinizing eyes). So, I decided to take my blackhead infested nose and hormonal congested chin to Wexfords premiere skin clinic and beauty salon, Beauty.com (

Hi all, I've been to loads of beauty salons in Ireland and abroad, mostly for facials and waxing, and I have to say that the best facial I've EVER had was in a cosy salon in The Faythe, Wexford Town. The beautician is called Mariga and the salon is called beauty.com. Her facials are out of this world and with all the extra touches that I've never even had in expensive spas. It was extremely relaxing and my skin felt and looked great for ages after. I'll def be making the long drive just to go there. It was the first time that I felt really pampered by a professional. Oh, and she has really warm hands too, so perfect for a nice massage!

I have been using my program of Skin Essentials by Mariga for 6 weeks now with amazing results, my skin is so soft and has a healthy glow to it i even have make up free days which were not possible before. I hat the complementing facial by Mariga which i can only say was the best facial i've ever had you can really feel how passionate about her work she is with her attention to every detail.
